Jake Hodge Foundation Tournament
The 2017 Jake Hodge Tournament raised over $34,000. The surprise of the tournament was the 11U West Kentucky Wildcats who stormed into the playoffs undefeated. These 11 year old's defeated pre-tourney favorite Crittenden Free Press in the semifinals. The Free Press could not overcome the loss of player/coach Denis Hodge who was injured the week leading up to the tournament. The final game was a classic pitching duel in the rain between Fredonia's Craig Wyatt and the Wildcats' Luke Parker. Fredonia would claim the win 1-0 and their first Jake Hodge Championship. MVP went to Fredonia Boys Derrick Perkins and The Bone Collectors star Gordon Dugan was elected the the Little Busch Stadium Hall of Fame. After a few years of coming up short in the playoffs, Fredonia finally broke through with the win.
